The library has the opportunity to be the foremost expression of Carroll College’s commitment to providing students with the best possible educational, research, and resource environment. The re-visioning of the Corette Library will create a state-of-the-art learning commons where students can engage with each other, with staff and faculty, and find space for individual study and reflection. To see this vision become a reality, the design team has researched current learning commons and developed a series of guiding principles as a foundation for the design of this project.

These principles aim to create the best possible learning environment for Carroll students, including social spaces, collaborative work settings, quiet individual study areas, technology access, and staff support.
